Your opinion about the different ways we can charge for water services

Studies show a fixed fee portion on the water bill can be used to cover fixed costs, such as the cost of building and maintaining the infrastructure (pipes) to your home.

The size of pipes that deliver water to homes and businesses is based on the potential amount of water that may be needed at any given time. Given that some types of customers, such as manufacturers, use a lot more water, the pipes that serve them are bigger and Peel Region’s cost to serve them is different.
