Kevin’s Journey

Born in Birmingham, England, Kevin moved to Jamaica to live with his grandparents and other family. His mother then came to Canada. At the age of 10, he joined his mother in Toronto. For the entire journey, Kevin carried a family dictionary that had belonged to his grandmother. From his mother's perspective, the dictionary anchored his family to their home in Jamaica. He first lived in Scarborough where he was "one of only three students in school with an English and Jamaican accent!"

After getting married, Kevin and his family moved to Brampton. He later fell in love with Caledon's small town feel, and is currently a District Elder at the North Peel Community Church.

"I am anchored to Caledon."
