Meeting people where they are
Within our Butterfly homes, we collect extensive details about a person’s life, including their past occupation, interests, likes, and dislikes. We use these details to facilitate meaningful interactions and include items relevant to a person’s interests within their home area to truly make the space feel like home.
An example of this shines through Geraldine. As a former music teacher, she continues to share her passion for music with the people living and working at Malton Village. Geraldine will play the piano and may also conduct voice lessons with people sitting nearby. Should your singing need a little practice, Geraldine might just let you know!
At Malton Village, people living with dementia are given opportunities to continue to share their gifts, just like Geraldine, who continues to make a positive difference in the lives of everyone she interacts with.
