Find out if you are eligible under the new guidelines, watch our videos and access application
The Region of Peel has launched a new website that will support residents in learning about, applying for and riding TransHelp, the Region’s accessible transportation service. www.peelregion.ca/transhelp
The site is designed to better serve potential applicants to TransHelp, through supportive, transcribed videos, an online form or PDF application, and up-to-date user information for passengers.
In 2017, expanded Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act (AODA) guidelines come into effect. These guidelines introduce new categories of eligibility for paratransit users. To meet these guidelines, TransHelp now accepts applications from residents with cognitive, mental, sensory or physical disabilities not able to use conventional public transportation services some or all of the time. This is an Ontario-wide, legislated change that introduces new categories of eligibility. At the same time, TransHelp has also updated its process for reviewing client applications, so residents should use the new application to apply. For more information, visit www.peelregion.ca/transhelp
Applicants can continue to contact the Region at any time to request alternate formats.
The Region is committed to working with all TransHelp clients to ensure they receive the support they need to travel within the Region.
