Schedule ‘C’ Municipal Class Environmental Assessment

Public Information Centre (PIC) #1

Public Information Centre #1 was held in person on Thursday, November 16, 2023, from 5 p.m. - 7 p.m. at Albion Bolton Community Centre Auditorium. The PIC presented the study's problem/opportunity statement, existing study area conditions, overall evaluation approach and asked for public input.

PIC #1 materials are posted. There is a two-week question submission period that will close on November 30, 2023. Please fill out the form for any questions or comments.

Background

The Region of Peel has initiated the Bolton Water and Wastewater Capacity Improvements Municipal Class Environmental Assessment (MCEA) study. This MCEA builds off a Feasibility Study recently completed which outlined conceptual water and wastewater projects that service the additonal developemnt proposed within both the intensification and greenfield growth areas in the Community of Bolton. Additionally, the MCEA will complete a comprehensive evaluation of all potential alternatives to develop the optimal water and wastewater servicing solutions to meet existing needs and growth within the Bolton study area.

The Schedule ‘C’ Study will satisfy all five phases of the Class EA process:

This study will hold 3 PICs to present the key findings of the Class EA and provide opportunities to give feedback to the project team.

Project timeline

The Bolton Water and Wastewater Capacity Improvements MCEA was initiated in June 2023. The following provides a summary of key study dates:

It is expected that this study will be completed in Spring 2025.

Study next steps:

Following PIC No. 1, the project team will review and consider all feedback received to support the problem/opportunity statement, background understanding and overall study approach.

Phase 2 of the Class EA process will evaluate servicing alternatives and select the preliminary preferred water and wastewater servicing strategies. This will be presented at the future PIC No. 2.
