Schedule B Class Environmental Assessment
Notice of Study Commencement – July 27, 2023
Background
Peel Region has started the Royal Windsor Wastewater Sewer Diversion Municipal Class Environmental Assessment (MCEA) study. This MCEA builds off a recently completed master planning study (i.e. Block1 Study) focused on Park Royal, Sheridan Homeland, and the commercial areas around it. The study outlined conceptual wastewater infrastructure required to enhance flood resiliency, prevent sewage overflow into Sheridan creek, support additional growth, and facilitate treatment plant expansion. Royal Windsor Diversion is one of the proposed infrastructures. This study will evaluate all potential alternatives for its development within the highlighted study area.
Process
This study will follow the 2023 process for a Schedule “B” MCEA project, which includes:
- Public and stakeholder consultations.
- An evaluation of alternative solutions.
- An assessment of proposed alternatives.
- Identification of methods to lessen the adverse impacts to the community.
Your input is important
As part of the Study, online public engagement will be arranged to allow interested members of the public an opportunity to review and comment on the alternatives, including the preferred alternative, the evaluation process, and next steps in the Study process. Any input received, will be incorporated into the Project File Report, which will be available for public review when the study is completed.
