Schedule B Class Environmental Assessment

Notice of Study Commencement – August 18, 2023

Background

Peel Region has identified the need to increase wastewater (sanitary sewer) servicing capacity to enable proposed and future developments near the intersection of Hurontario Street and Kirwin Avenue. This study will evaluate all potential alternatives for sanitary sewer development within the highlighted study area.

As a result, a Schedule ‘B’ Class Environmental Assessment (EA) has begun to identify a solution for this infrastructure need. The map shows the area that may be affected by the proposed construction.

This study will follow the 2023 process for a Schedule “B” EA project, which includes:

As part of the Study, online public engagement will allow interested members of the public to review and comment on the alternatives, including the preferred alternative, the evaluation process, and next steps in the Study process. This information will be available to the public on the webpage. Any input received will be incorporated into the Project File Report, which will be available for public review when the study is completed.
