Master Plan for the groundwater-based systems
Environmental Assessment Study
Peel Region is initiating a Master Plan study for its Peel owns and operates four (4) groundwater-based drinking water systems that supply drinking water to several communities in the Town of Caledon.
The Master Plan Study will identify long-term drinking water servicing strategies and infrastructure needs to support projected growth and planned development in the serviced areas within the Town of Caledon, consistent with the 2051 Official Plan. The limits of the Project Study Area are illustrated in the adjacent figure.
Master Plan Study Process
The Master Plan Study will be carried out in accordance with Approach 1 for Master Plans of the 2023 Municipal Class Environmental Assessment Process, which is an approved process under the Environmental Assessment Act. Phases 1 and 2 of the Class EA process will be completed. The Master Plan will become the basis for future investigations and additional work for specific Schedule B and C projects.
How to Stay Involved
Peel Region wishes to ensure that anyone with an interest in the study has an opportunity to get involved. Opportunities to get involved and provide feedback will include Public Information Centres (PICs) and direct consultation. The PICs will be held at key points during the study to present the results of the activities completed to date, next steps in the study and to gather feedback. Notices for PICs will be published in local newspapers, on the Region’s website and distributed to all individuals who express an interest in this project.
