Notice of Study Commencement Watermain on McVean Drive (Castlemore Road to Countryside Drive)
The Region of Peel has initiated a Municipal Class Environmental Assessment study (Class EA) to examine the need for a watermain on McVean Drive from Castlemore Road to Countryside Drive in Brampton to meet the preferred water servicing strategy identified in the Water and Wastewater Master Plan for the Lake Based Systems. The map (PDF) shows the proposed watermain (light grey shading) and the existing watermain (dashed line).
The 2013 Water and Wastewater Master Plan for the Lake Based Systems identified the distribution watermain on McVean Drive from Castlemore Road to Mayfield Road as part of the preferred water servicing alternative. The Master Plan addressed long-range infrastructure requirements to forecast impacts on existing, planned and future projects, and to ensure water servicing continuation beyond 2031. The City of Brampton completed the Class EA for McVean Drive road widening and improvements and is proceeding to detailed design and construction of the project.
How to Get Involved
Stakeholder consultation (which includes public and agencies) is an important component of the Class EA process. The Region wants to provide an opportunity for input on the recommended watermain alignment. We are interested in hearing any comments or concerns you may have with respect to this study by November 2, 2108. Information about this project summarizes selection of the recommended alignment.
Any input received on the alternative solution will be incorporated into the Project File Report for the study. The next step in the Class EA process will be the Project File Report which will be advertised in an upcoming Notice of Completion.
