1. Water and Wastewater Treatment Facility Tour

This guided tour of our leading-edge water and wastewater treatment facilities showcases how water and wastewater are treated in Peel.

Open to grades 8 and up
Offered Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday
Tour time is from 10:00am – 1:30pm


Please Note: Presentation room has a maximum capacity of up to 30 people.
For class sizes larger than 30, an additional tour date must be chosen.

2. Waste Reduction Tours

Through the use of hands-on learning activities, students will learn about waste management practices and the importance of waste reduction. This full day tour will include a tour of both the Peel Integrated Waste Management Facility and the Brampton Community Recycling Centre.

Open to Grade 3 and Up.
Offered Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday
Tour time is from 10am-1:30pm


Please Note: Presentation room has a maximum capacity of up to 35 people.
For class sizes larger than 35, an additional tour date must be chosen.

3. Peel Water Story Bus Tour

This full-day field trip takes classes to unique parts of Peel Region to learn about natural and human water systems. Each tour involves stops to multiple sites in Peel, allowing students to connect the dots within their watershed and better understand water issues through hands-on experience.

The tours are led by Region of Peel staff with support from Credit Valley Conservation and Toronto and Region Conservation Authority.

We are currently able to offer schools a choice of four trip itineraries. To see the itinerary outlines click here.

Open to grades 5-12
Offered Tuesdays and Fridays during the months of April, May, June, September, October and November
Tour time is from the start time of the school to the end time of the school.



Please Note: A maximum of 44 participants including teachers, students, and chaperones can be accommodated on each tour date. If you have more than 44 participants, it will be necessary to book multiple tour dates.

Bus Company Selection:

This is a free tour, but it does not include the cost of bussing for the day. The Region of Peel is able to coordinate bussing for the tour at a lower rate and invoice the school for payment. Please select the bussing option that you would prefer

  • I have a preferred bus company for the tour and will coordinate the bussing for the Peel Water Story bus tour.
  • I authorize the Region of Peel to book the bus for my school for the Peel Water Story bus tour on my behalf. I understand that my school is responsible for paying all bussing costs and will be invoiced for the full amount of the charter bus service by the bus company. I understand that it is my responsibility to connect with the bus company to cancel my booking if necessary.

    First Student: Services all parts of Peel Region.
    Buses available from 9:15 am to 2:00 pm
    Parkview: Serves Brampton, Caledon and Malton only.
    Buses available from 9:30 am to 2:00pm. Bussing may be available from 9:00 am to 2:30 pm for Brampton and Bolton schools.
    Switzer-Carty: Serves all parts of Peel Region.
    Buses available from 9:15 am to 1:30 pm only. Do not choose if your school day ends after 2:15 pm.

Open to Kindergarten to Grade 8 students. Offered Monday to Friday

Workshops are inclusive of different learning styles and can be further accommodated bases on student needs.

4. The Great Gulp

"The Great Gulp" is an event that helps create awareness about the importance of Peel drinking water in our lives. "The Great Gulp" invites schools to have all students participate in a synchronized drink of tap water.

Get everyone on board by promoting the event through announcements, newsletters, posters and social media.

We are looking for schools to visit and feature as part of the promotions of "The Great Gulp". First 5 schools to respond by checking the box below will be profiled.
