The Peel Food Map is a resource directory that provides information about food programs across Peel Region.

The food programs are defined as below:

  • Emergency Donation Centre
  • Breakfast program
  • Community meal program (soup kitchen)
  • Community garden
  • Food bank
  • Food pantry
  • Food delivery program
  • Food education program (communal cooking)
  • Multi-service program
  • School food program

The Peel Food Map is a resource supported by the Peel Hunger Relief Network (PHRN).

How to use the map

Select one or more categories you require by checking or unchecking the items on the panel on the left side. Clicking on an icon on the map will show a pop-up that provides the following information about the site (program):

  • Type of Program
  • Name of the Program
  • Address and Postal Code
  • Contact information
  • Name of the Municipality
  • Hours of Operation
  • Website

Program Types

Emergency Donation Centre
Breakfast Program - A program that provides prepared breakfast or a morning snack; the program is free to all ages.
Community Meal Program (Soup Kitchen) - A site that provides free hot meals prepared for residents.
Community Garden - Urban gardens for residents to grow fresh produce.
Food Bank - A program that provides food to residents in their neighbourhood.
Food Delivery Program - A program that delivers food or a prepared meal directly to someone's home; some programs have a feed.
Food Education Program (Communal Cooking) - Programs that teach food preparation, cooking for free or for a nominal fee.
Food Pantry - A site which provides up to 2-3 days of food per visit.
Multi-Service Program - Sites that provide a food program and additional services; programs are free or for a nominal fee.
School Food Program - Free breakfast and snack programs that operate in schools only and are restricted to students attending that school.
