Acrylic, gold leaf and cheesecloth on canvas
Like rust on a car or mold on a wall, there are fundamental problems that people choose to ignore, but the situation only worsens if not resolved.
The same applies to the relationships that create a home; these bonds are fragile and are often taken for granted. Such relationships with underlying troubles will only continue to tear beyond repair if not patched.
The artwork contains a build-up of cheesecloth that is peeled back in the centre creating a hole that continues to tear and representing an unsolved issue. However, handling something so fragile only gives more of a reason to cherish it.
