Become a Museum Detective at PAMA this August

BRAMPTON, ON. (AUGUST 1, 2018) — August at the Peel Art Gallery, Museum and Archives (PAMA) is filled with fun activities for families and individuals. Grab your detective hats and drop in for a staycation activity on Tuesdays and Thursdays all August long! Visit our new exhibition from the Graphic History Collective,Remember, Rethink, Redraw, featuring works by artists and writers committed to promoting art, activism, and the radical history of Canada. Register for one or all of our Greening Your Grounds Workshops in partnership with Toronto and Region Conservation Authority (TRCA).

Programs in August

PAMA has a host of fun activities available all summer:

Become a Museum Detective - Summer Staycation Activity
Every Tuesday and Thursday, 10 a.m. – 3 p.m.  (Aug. 2, 7, 9, 14, 16, 21, 23, 28, 30)

Grab your detective hats for a drop-in adventure at PAMA. Experience a new activity every Tuesday and Thursday from July 31 – August 30. Make new friends and meet special guests for only $12 per family (2 adults and up to 5 kids). Don’t miss special guests Toronto and Region Conservation Authority (TRCA) on Aug. 16 and Creature Quest on Aug. 28.

Knit@PAMA
Thursday Nights, 6 - 8 p.m. 
Join novice and expert knitters on Thursday evenings from 6 - 8 p.m. for a great cause. Admission to this activity is FREE. Donations are made to charities within the Region of Peel.

Weekend Family Activities

Saturdays and Sundays, 1 - 4:30 p.m.
Guide your family through art projects that inspire creativity. These drop-in activities are included in the cost of PAMA admission, Members are free.

Greening Your Grounds Workshops in partnership with the Toronto Region Conservation Authority, Thursdays, 7 - 8 p.m.

Peel Aboriginal Drumming Circle
Thursday, Aug. 16, 7 - 8:30 p.m.
PAMA and the Peel Aboriginal Network(PAN) invite you to participate in an evening of shared traditions and songs. Free admission to this activity. 

Family Fun Days
Saturday, Aug. 18, 10 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.
Family time adventures happen here. Put away those tech devices. This Family Fun Day is all about social justice, finding your voice and making your own poster art inspired by the new exhibition Remember, Rethink, Redraw. Participate in a variety of fun, hands-on activities like Family Art and Yoga, 1 - 2:30 p.m., Family Art and Stories, 2:45 - 3:45 p.m., and Family Fun Activity and Colouring Room, 10 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. These activities are included in the cost of PAMA admission; caregivers are to accompany children.

Three Sisters Workshop
Sunday, August 19, 2 - 3:30 p.m.
Join Peel Aboriginal Network (PAN) for an afternoon of storytelling plus a colourful family-friendly activity. This workshop is included in the cost of PAMA admission and registration is required. All ages are welcome; caregivers are to accompany children. Reserve Your Spot Now
