Alcohol use during pregnancy can cause brain damage and permanent birth defects. Babies born with Fetal Alcohol Syndrome Disorder (FASD) may have a range of complications including developmental delays, learning disabilities, facial abnormalities and growth deficiencies. In Canada, it is estimated that one child per day is born with FASD.

FASD is a preventable birth defect.
