THE REGIONAL MUNICIPALITY OF PEEL |
BY-LAW NUMBER 24-2012 |
A by-law to allocate federal gas tax revenue funds to the City of Brampton, the City of Mississauga and the Town of Caledon for the year 2012. |
WHEREAS The Regional Municipality of Peel (Region of Peel) has entered into a Municipal Funding Agreement with The Association of Municipalities of Ontario (AMO), for the Transfer of Federal Gas Tax Revenues under the New Deal for Cities and Communities, dated as of the 20th day of December, 2005 (the “Municipal Funding Agreement”);
AND WHEREAS, on the 29th day of April, 2010 AMO and the Region of Peel entered into an agreement amending the Municipal Funding Agreement to reflect the revised schedule of payments and minimum funds to be distributed to the Region of Peel for the Regional fiscal years of 2010 through to 2013 (the “Amending Agreement”);
AND WHEREAS, the Council of the Region of Peel, has authorized the execution of the Amending Agreement;
AND WHEREAS, the Region of Peel wishes to allocate to the City of Brampton, the City of Mississauga and the Town of Caledon, a portion of the funds the Region is entitled to receive under the said Amending Agreement for the year 2012;
AND WHEREAS, Section 6.2 of the above-mentioned Municipal Funding Agreement requires the Region of Peel to pass a By-law in order to allocate such funds;
NOW THEREFORE the Council of the Regional Corporation enacts as follows:
