WHEREAS the Council of the Regional Municipality of Peel (“Regional Corporation”) on February 15, 2007 enacted By-law 14-2007 to establish the water rates and charges in accordance with Schedule A attached thereto;

AND WHEREAS the Council of the Regional Corporation on February 23, 2012 enacted By-law 173-2011 to amend By-law 14-2007;

AND WHEREAS the Council of the Regional Corporation has by resolution adopted on December 7, 2012, authorized the enactment of the By-law herein to further amend By-law 14-2007;

NOW THEREFORE, the Council of the Regional Corporation enacts as follows:

1. Schedule A attached to By-law 14-2007 is deleted and replaced with the Schedule A attached hereto;
   
   
2. By-law 173-2011 is hereby repealed;
   
   
3. Despite the repeal of By-law 173-2011 and the amendment of By-law 14-2007 herein, the water rates and charges set out in Schedule A to By-law 14-2007, as amended, that were in effect on the day any such rates and charges became payable, shall continue to apply to the rates and charges which became payable prior to the date upon which this by-law comes into effect;
   
   
4. This by-law comes into effect on January 1, 2013.

Water Consumption Fees and Charges


The rates set out in section1below are effective for all accounts rendered from the date this by-law is passed up to and including accounts rendered on March31,2013.The rates set out in section 2 below are effective for all accounts rendered on or after April1, 2013.

SECTION 1

1. Unmetered Consumption

A flat rate of $11.53 per month for property owners whose water supply is unmetered.

2. Consumption Rates

Each metered service shall be billed separately. The metered rates shall be as follows:

(a) $9.1249 per ten cubic metres (10m³) metered or
(b) $4.15 per thousand Imperial gallons metered

SECTION 2

1. Unmetered Consumption

A flat rate of $12.22 per month for property owners whose water supply is unmetered.

2. Consumption Rates

Each metered service shall be billed separately. The metered rates shall be as follows:

(a) $9.6724 per ten cubic metres (10m³) metered or
(b) $4.40 per thousand Imperial gallons metered

NOTE: For cash transactions (only), when pennies are not available (following the Royal Canadian Mint’s elimination of the penny from circulation), the total cash payment for the final fee (inclusive of taxes where applicable) will be rounded (up or down) to the nearest five-cent increment in accordance with Regional accounting procedures.
