Public Works Transportation For Residents Planning - Transportation Information and Data

Transportation Information and Data

Peel Region collects transportation data to better understand how traffic moves in and through the Region and why people travel the way they do.

Our transportation database lets us:

  • Better understand Peel's transportation system.
  • Pinpoint areas of need and identify potential improvements.
  • Gather data for making informed decisions.
  • Measure the effectiveness of our policies and programs.

Programs, Initiatives and Resources

The Cordon Count Program counts people and vehicles that cross major intersections in Peel.
  • Travel Demand Forecasting Model
A travel demand forecasting model predicts how a transportation system will be used in the future.
  • Transportation Tomorrow Survey (TTS)

  • Travel Time Study
A Travel Time Study collects samples of how long drivers spend - and how fast they go - on highways and other major routes.
  • Transportation Fact Sheets
Peel's Transportation Fact Sheets provide overviews of Peel Region's transportation services and programs.
  • Other Traffic Data (ATR/AADT /TMC)
Automatic Traffic Recorders (ATRs), Annual Average Daily Traffic (AADT) and Turning Movement Counts (TMC) are ways of collecting and measuring how many, and which kinds of vehicles use Peel's roadways. 25.3
