Notice of Public Meeting

Retail Business Holidays Act Tourism Exemption By-law - Seafood City Supermarket

Take notice that the Council of the Regional Municipality of Peel will hold a statutory public meeting on September 13, 2018 to consider an application by Seafood City Supermarket, 800 Boyer Boulevard, City of Mississauga for permission to be open to the public and to sell or offer to sell goods or services associated with a retail grocery store under the Retail Business Holidays Act. The by-law applied for would permit Seafood City Supermarket to remain open voluntarily between 7:00 a.m. and 10:00 p.m. on New Year's Day, Family Day, Good Friday, Easter Sunday, Victoria Day, Canada Day, Labour Day, Thanksgiving Day and Christmas Day.

Purpose and Effect of the Proposed Exemption to the Retail Business Holidays Act

The purpose and effect of the proposed exemption application to the Retail Business Holidays Act is to exempt Seafood City Supermarket from the Retail Business Holidays Act and permit the establishment to remain open voluntarily between 7:00 a.m. and 10:00 p.m. on New Year's Day, Family Day, Good Friday, Easter Sunday, Victoria Day, Canada Day, Labour Day, Thanksgiving Day, and Christmas Day.

Location of Subject Lands

The retail business establishment is generally located on the north side of Britannia Road West, west of Mavis Road, municipally known as 800 Boyer Boulevard, in the City of Mississauga.

The Public Meeting on this application will be held:

Any person may attend the public meeting and/or provide written or verbal representation either in support of or in opposition to the proposed by-law. Any person who wishes to appear before Regional Council may do so by notifying the Office of the Regional Clerk in writing or by completing the Request for Delegation form (PDF) by 9:00 a.m., September 13, 2018.
