The Nomination Period to Become a Candidate for Peel Regional Chair Begins on May 1

BRAMPTON, ON. (April. 17, 2018) - In this year's municipal election on October 22, 2018, eligible Peel residents will have an opportunity to vote for the Peel Regional Chair for the first time. The names of the candidates for the position of the Chair will be on the ballot, and Peel electors will vote for their preferred candidate.

The nomination period for the 2018 Municipal Election will begin on Tuesday May 1, 2018, and end on Friday, July 27, 2018, at 2 p.m. Individuals interested in being a candidate for the position of Peel Regional Chair can file their nomination papers with the Regional Clerk's Office in person.

Forms and resources for candidates are available at peelregion.ca/elections. Individuals interested in being a candidate can file their nomination in person at the Regional Clerk's Office at 10 Peel Centre Drive, 5th Floor, Suite A, in Brampton, on:

May 1 - July 26, 2018, 8:30 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.
July 27, 2018, 9 a.m. - 2 p.m. (Nomination Day)

The Region will not accept faxed or electronic submissions.

The fee for filing a nomination form is $200 and must be paid by cash, debit or credit card (Visa or MasterCard), certified cheque or money order payable to the Regional Municipality of Peel.
