Christmas and New Year’s Holiday Waste Collection and Community Recycling Centre Information

 

Brampton, ON. (Dec. 17, 2013) – During the weeks of Dec. 23 and Dec. 30, Brampton and Mississauga residents are advised that the waste collection schedule has changed due to the Christmas and New Year’s holidays. The following is a revised garbage and recycling (blue box and green bin) collection schedule:

Community Recycling Centre Holiday Schedule
The Community Recycling Centres (CRCs) will be open during regular hours and days of the week throughout the holiday period with the following exceptions:

Tuesday, Dec. 24, 2013: All CRCs close at 4:30 p.m.
Wednesday, Dec. 25, 2013: All CRCs closed
Thursday, Dec. 26, 2013: All CRCs closed
Tuesday, Dec. 31, 2013: All CRCs close at 4:30 p.m.
Wednesday, Jan. 1, 2014: All CRCs closed

Christmas Tree Collection
Christmas trees will be collected during the week of Jan. 13, 2014 on regular waste collection days. Christmas trees must not exceed 3m (10 ft.) in length. Remove all outer plastic bags, ornaments, tinsel, nails, wire and tree stand. Christmas trees buried in snowbanks will not be picked up. Residents may also drop off their Christmas trees at CRCs – regular drop-off fees will apply.

The Region of Peel provides waste management services in the Cities of Brampton and Mississauga and in the Town of Caledon.
