BY-LAW NUMBER 79-2007 |
A by-law to authorize an Application for Approval to Expropriate Land being Part of Lot 3, Concession 5 West of Hurontario Street, in the City of Brampton (formerly Township of Chinguacousy), Regional Municipality of Peel, being more particularly identified as Part 2 on draft reference plan 07-B5469-5 prepared by Young & Young Surveying Inc. |
WHEREAS the Regional Corporation requires lands described in Schedule “A” hereto for the widening of Mississauga Road from north of Steeles Avenue West to Queen Street and works ancillary thereto;
AND WHEREAS Section 6 of the Municipal Act, 2001, S.O. 2001, c. 25 confers on the Corporation the power to expropriate land.
AND WHEREAS Section 11 of the Municipal Act, 2001 confers on the Corporation jurisdiction in respect of highways.
AND WHEREAS the Council of the Regional Corporation has by resolution passed on August 2, 2007 authorized the commencement of procedures to expropriate land;
NOW THEREFORE, the Council of the Regional Corporation enacts as follows:
